Foothills Septic Pumping, Inc.

Everything we do is painted on the tank.

Locating, thawing, excavating, inspections, tank repairs and tank replacement. That list rides on the side of our red Peterbilt, right under the phone number that rings our office.

Our founders have been in the septic pumping business for more than 32 years. We pump, inspect and repair residential and commercial systems, fully licensed and insured, and the customers who call us tend to keep calling. One had us replace her tank more than a decade ago and still has us back to pump it.

How often does a septic tank need pumping?

For a 1,000 gallon tank and a household of four, about every 2.6 years. Bigger households fill a tank faster. Set yours below.

Cross-section of a septic tank A buried septic tank with two lids at the surface. Wastewater enters through the inlet baffle on the left. Inside, a floating scum layer sits on top, clear liquid in the middle, and sludge settles on the bottom. Liquid leaves through the outlet baffle on the right. Pumping removes the scum and sludge. That's about 3 pump-outs in the next 10 years.

Inspections

Selling a house on septic?

Our inspections are NAWT certified, and Jefferson County lists us as a certified maintenance provider. Call early so the inspection isn't the thing holding up your closing.

“Getting ready to sell my home and will call only them for an inspection/septic service.”

Holding tanks

On a holding tank? We'll keep it emptied.

A holding tank has no leach field, so it fills up and has to be pumped on a schedule. Some of our regular customers are on one, and they call us when it's time.

“This was the first time I'd ever had to have something like this done and they were very understanding and answered all of my calls and questions.”

How often should a septic tank be pumped?

It depends on tank size and how many people live in the house. Oregon State University Extension's table puts a 1,000 gallon tank with four people at about every 2.6 years, and the same tank with two people at about every 5.9 years. A garbage disposal means more often. Use the tank tool above, or call and we'll help.

Do you pump holding tanks?

Yes. Some of our regular customers have us empty their holding tanks. A holding tank has no leach field, so it needs pumping on a schedule. Call and we'll set one up.

Are your inspections certified?

Yes. Our inspections are NAWT certified (National Association of Wastewater Technicians), and Jefferson County Public Health lists us as a NAWT certified maintenance provider.

Do you work on commercial systems?

Yes. We pump and service both residential and commercial septic systems, and we're fully licensed and insured.

What are the signs a tank needs replacing?

Sludge build-up, unpleasant odors, moist ground over the tank or leach field, and drains that stop working. If you're seeing any of those, call us to take a look.

Can you find a buried tank or thaw a frozen line?

Yes. Locating, thawing and excavating are all part of what we do, along with inspections, tank repairs and tank replacement.

What are your hours?

The office is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Call (303) 670-3160.

Where are you based?
